As Joshua led the Israelites into the Promise land, there were many enemies to overcome before they could possess the land and experience the promised blessings. When we embrace Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we enter a new life as a new creation. Ephesians chapter 1 tells us that God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in Christ. To experience these blessings, like the Israelites, we also have to overcome many enemies. Lessons the Israelites learned will help us to walk closely with the Lord, trust and obey Him, and experience the power of God in our Christian life. Whether we are a new Christian, a Christian who is in spiritual warfare, or a Christian who needs a new beginning, we find life principles in the Book of Joshua which will help us as we deal with many of the same issues that Joshua and the people dealt with so many centuries ago.
